If you noticed more buffering and sputtering when streaming video from Netflix a few months ago, you weren’t alone. But who was really to blame? Your broadband provider or Netflix?

05-10-2014 9:38 pm – Bob Unruh – World Net Daily

Talk of impeaching Barack Obama has been broached by members of Congress, media, community activists, truckers and others from both left and right over the past several years.

COMMON CORE

Nothing real supports the  outrageous, increasing, ongoing federal overtake of schools. Federal bluffing and federal pretense to education authority continues because it is upheld by the stupored, undefending millions of us who aren’t aware of our right to control education locally  and do not defend it. Two federal overtake moves stand out in my mind today as heart-stoppingly wrong.  These are things that we should firmly, loudly oppose.

  • The first is Secretary Arne Duncan’s mandatory preschool.  In his “Statement for the Record” to Congress concerning the new education budget request, Duncan lay aside the former practice of calling federal preschool voluntary.  In this recent (April 29, 2014) speech, Duncan called for mandatory preschool:  “The third major priority in the 2015 request is to continue the President’s commitment to expanding educational opportunity for millions of children through a $75 billion mandatory Preschool for All program…” he said.

  • The…

arrest14n-2-web We have a long list of cases where police have arrested citizens for filming them in public despite repeated court rulings that this is a protected practice. I previously discussed this issue in a column . Massachusetts’s police and prosecutors have been particularly aggressive to pursuing citizens. That record has continued this week with Karen Dziewit, 24, of Chicopee who has been charged with unlawful wiretapping after she recorded her arrest.

TIME

Barbara Walters stopped by the Late Show with David Letterman on Wednesday, and the longtime pals talked about the recent comeback of Monica Lewinsky—who recently wrote a first-person essay for the June issue of Vanity Fair.

“Monica Lewinsky has resurfaced,” Letterman said. “You would talk to her in a second, right?”

“I like Monica and I felt that she’s never had the chance to move on and I hope that she does,” Walters said. “I hope she’s given the chance.”

Letterman noted that in the recent Vanity Fair article, Lewinsky said she can’t get a job anywhere. “And then I started to feel bad,” Letterman said. “Because myself and other people with shows like this made relentless jokes about the poor woman. And she was a kid, she was 21, 22 — ”

Then Letterman expressed regret over teasing Lewinsky: “I feel bad about my role in helping…

Stop Common Core Illinois

EAG News –

CHICAGO – The cult of Common Core had its crude beginnings in Chicago. The central players shaping the cult of Common Core, President Obama, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, David Coleman, and Jason Zimba all burnished their “education reform” credentials in Chicago before inflicting this failed model upon the rest of the nation.

My Opinion My Vote

In an interview with Yahoo News surrounding the 40th anniversary of his comedic masterpiece “Blazing Saddles,” co-writer/director Mel Brooks blasted present-day political correctness and says he was “lucky” to have made the film in the days when he still could:

“They can’t make that movie today because everybody’s so politically correct. You know, the NAACP would stop a great movie that would do such a great service to black people because of the N-word,” says Brooks. “You’ve got to really examine these things and see what’s right and what’s wrong. Politically correct is absolutely wrong. Because it inhibits the freedom of thought. I’m so lucky that they weren’t so strong then and that the people that let things happen on the screen weren’t so powerful then. I was very lucky.”

In the comment sections and on Twitter, I caught all kinds of entertaining hell (Kos is especially perturbed) for my…

So far, they’re getting away with it. And the more scalps they collect, the more brazen they will become. If you think their demands are outrageous now, just wait. I’m sorry to say, there is much worse to come.

Yep, sigh… But actually, there is a lot of satisfaction in telling the bastards that they are despicable and nauseate you and watch them work up a lather trying to corner you into admitting that you have “anger issues.” Great fun. — jtl, 419

The forces of intolerance on the left have taken several more scalps in the past few days. And boy, are they gloating about it.

Example No. 1 is Miami Dolphins safety Don Jones. He had the unmitigated gall not to praise Michael Sam, an openly gay football player, for kissing his boyfriend on national TV when he became one of the top selections in…

Documents from US agency show that Canberra spies pleaded for help to increase surveillance on terror suspects

by Paul Farrell

Australia’s intelligence agency asked for more help from its US counterparts to increase surveillance on Australians suspected of involvement in international extremist activities.

Documents from the US National Security Agency, published by Glenn Greenwald on Tuesday in his book No Place to Hide: Edward Snowden, the NSA and the Surveillance State, reveal new details of Australia’s close relationship with the US spy agency.

In an extract on 21 February 2011 from the acting deputy director of Australia’s Defence Signals Directorate, which has since been re-named the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), the director pleads for additional surveillance on Australians.

“We would very much welcome the opportunity to extend that partnership with…
